HELLO EVERYONE
I am here to introduce myself and my project I have been working on since NaNoWriMO 2017. Yeah, that long.
First, let me talk about myself:
I am Canadian, perpetually tired an avid dog lover, though I don’t own one, and currently trying to pretend 2018 never happened and hoping 2019 will be My Year. I post often on twitter, you might have seen my tweets before over on @KatieCWrites (please ignore the typos, I edit my books, not my twitter). Villains are my jam and I love them all from the Darkling to Kylo and Carden and recently Corien in Claire Legrand’s FURYBORN (please read this book it’s AMAZING) I like to yell about books and complain about my own, but its all in good fun because I love writing its just hard sometimes. I put sour cream in my instant noodles (try it) cheese on my fries and gravy (see: Candian) and will shamelessly go to Starbucks multiple times a day. I love mythology, history and fairytales, and most of my books combine at least two of the three.
Here are some of my recent fav reads:
- THE CRUEL PRINCE/ THE WICKED KING (still recovering RIP me)
- CIRCE
- THE BELLES
- GIRLS OF PAPER AND FIRE
- WINTERSPELL
- FURYBORN
- SHADOW OF THE FOX
Currently reading:
- THE DIVINERS audiobook (THIS IS SO GOOD)
Up next:
- DESCENDANT OF THE CRANE
- ENCHANTEE
OKAY so now I will talk about my AMM project since that is why you are all here.
My 2019 AMM project will be my 1920s reimagining of Hades and Persephone. It features:
- Devilish gods
- Probably too much prohibited liquor
- Flappers, speakeasies and lots of 1920s slang.
- One handsome devil by the name of Liam Cronin
- A soul-mate themed romance filled with betrayal and murder
Quick Pitch:
THE DIVINERS x THE STAR-TOUCHED QUEEN
Eighteen-year-old debutante gets captured by Hades after sneaking out to his club & finds out they share an ancient curse. She must remember who she is before the goddess inside her destroys everything she loves—including the devilish god that haunts her.
AESTHETICS:

“And perhaps she had known from that very moment whose eye she had caught, not that she would ever admit it to anyone afterward.”

“Perhaps I thought I deserved whatever judgement I received, long ago. I lost myself for a time, Josephine. I might not be privy to the same things I once was, but I come by my reputation honestly. I am not a good person.“

“They were falling for each other and falling hard — anyone looking could see that. Even Eros himself couldn’t have changed anything.”
